Setting The Stage
Mike and Robyn’s engagement photo session in the heart of Poudre Canyon—just a scenic drive outside of Fort Collins, Colorado—was the perfect blend of romance, adventure, and laughter. Nestled between dramatic cliffs and the sparkling waters of the Cache la Poudre River, this breathtaking location gave us everything we could’ve hoped for: sweeping mountain views, golden hour magic, and a couple totally in love.
From the start, Mike and Robyn were all in—down for anything, whether it was climbing over rocks, strolling through tall grass, or even wading barefoot into the chilly river (yes, in Colorado spring temps!). Their playful energy was contagious, and it made capturing their connection feel effortless. Every splash, every laugh, every quiet moment between them told a piece of their story.

Location Scouting
Just a short drive from Fort Collins, Poudre Canyon is a stunning escape into Colorado’s wild beauty—complete with crystal-clear river views, towering canyon walls, and peaceful trails. The first of our standout spots that we went to was the bridge near the start of the Greyrock Trail, perfect for adventurous hikers chasing epic views. You don't have to go far from the parking lot to get some incredible views.
Just down the canyon a ways is our second scouting location, the Gateway Natural Area, a serene haven with a scenic field, picnic areas, and river access.
If you're visiting Gateway, don’t forget to check the hours and bring cash or a card for the entrance fee—it’s well worth it for a day surrounded by nature.

The mix of rugged natural beauty and genuine emotion made this engagement session one to remember. If you’re dreaming of an outdoor Colorado engagement with wild, romantic vibes and a touch of spontaneity, Poudre Canyon should definitely be on your radar.
