Family Photos with Feeling

Not Your Average JCPenny Shoot...

Unless That's What you're Going For...

Daily moments, arranged into timeless memories.

A lot has changed since school picture day when we were kids. Gone are the days of fake logs and fake smiles and begging your parents to buy the plastic laminated bookmark with your face on it. (90's kids know what's up)

Whether in the studio or out in the wild, taking family portraits should be fun, creative, classy, and memorable. When you look back at those memories captured in ink, they should convey joy, nostalgia, and love.

Your photos should make you feel something

You have a cell phone. You take it everywhere. Chances are pretty good that the camera on it is pretty decent, and you likely have thousands of photos on it of the people you love most.

So, why in the heck are you going to hire someone to take your photos?

Because I am here to capture that love that you share for a fleeting snapshot in time.

I want to capture that quiet anticipation of a new mom excited to meet her little one for the first time. I want to create art from the tiny little wrinkles in your baby's arms that immediately give you the cute aggression (you know exactly what I am talking about).  I want to bottle the absolute giddy feeling of your toddler talking about the firetruck they saw last week because they're in their fire truck era. I want to make your parents cry with the family portraits you took with your siblings as a Christmas surprise.

Family Photos Shouldn't be Stressful

One of the most delightful surprises when I started working with families?

How many parents are genuinely shocked that they actually enjoy their photo session.

Before we ever meet, most families are carrying a quiet kind of stress.

It’s just another thing on the to-do list—and it comes with a lot of pressure.

Will the kids cooperate?

Will everyone smile?

Do the outfits match… but not too much?

What do we even do with our hands?

It can start to feel like you’re chasing perfection.

Take a deep breath—I’ve got you.

Family photos aren’t meant to be perfect.

They’re meant to be fun. They’re meant to feel like you.

They’re about the crooked tooth that’s just about to fall out, caught mid-laughter.

The mischievous sparkle as siblings tease each other in that way only they can.

The quiet pride you feel in the people you’ve raised and love so deeply.

These are the moments that matter.

So let me show you just how beautiful imperfection can be.

Out in the Wild

Family portraits out in the wild are where Colorado’s beauty meets real, easy connection. Think golden light, sweeping mountain views, and space for your family to simply be together without the pressure of stiff posing.

I guide you to stunning, accessible locations that feel adventurous but are still comfortable for little legs, grandparents, and everyone in between, so the experience stays relaxed from start to finish.

It’s the perfect balance of breathtaking landscapes and genuine moments—photos that feel as effortless as the time you spent making them, and as meaningful as the people in them.

In the Studio

Studio sessions at Denver Photo Collective are designed to feel effortless, calm, and completely tailored to your family.

Together, we’ll dream up and style a custom set that reflects your vision, whether that’s soft and timeless or bold and imaginative—without worrying about weather, crowds, or logistics. It’s a quiet, safe space where kids can ease into the experience, with snacks and a playroom to keep things light and fun, so everyone can show up as they are.

With all the pressure of the elements removed, we get to focus on what matters most—creating something beautiful, meaningful, and a little bit magical.

Home Shoots

In-home sessions bring a kind of magic you simply can’t replicate anywhere else. It’s the way your space feels, the familiar rhythms, the quiet details that make it yours—there’s a reason Dorothy said, “there’s no place like home.”

Inviting me in for a professional photoshoot lets us capture your life as it truly is—comfortable, personal, and beautifully imperfect. It’s a chance to create something deeply unique to you, where the setting isn’t just a backdrop, but part of your story.

FAQ

Do you travel for photoshoots?

I sure do! Though I am based in the beautiful city of Broomfield, Colorado. I support many clients across the front range and throughout the entire southwest region, regularly traveling to my home state of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. Curious about other states? Just ask!

What should we wear for our session?

Counter question! What are we going for? In our introductory call we will talk about what your vision is for this shoot. Whether its capturing the simplicity of everyday or something bold, worthy of a fine art gallery, we will make that vision come to life. After our call, I will send out a style guide custom designed just for you!

Do you have a client closet?

Yes! In partnership with the Denver Photo Collective, to supply a plethora of style options for your portrait session.

I also have a catalog of newborn and infant outfits, so you don't have to buy something that your baby will only wear once!

Do you offer hair and makeup services?

If I did your makeup, you would end up looking like Mimi from the Drew Carry show... If you were born after the 90's google it...

I do however partner with several fantastic hair stylists and makeup artists in Colorado who will make you look and FEEL bonita.

How long does it take to get our photos?

Turn time on your gallery is typically 2 weeks, with a quick look within 24 hours.

Do you offer albums or prints?

Absolutely! You can purchase albums, art, and prints directly from your personal gallery site. These are professional grade print quality from reputable labs.

Don't get me wrong, literally all of my travel photography albums are from Shutterfly or Walgreens, but the archival prints from your gallery do legitimately make a world of difference in quality.
